About Us
Our longevity is legendary.
We are proud to have been in business since 1904. We are even prouder of how hard we work to earn your business today. At Haenig Electric Company, Inc. your project is our top priority—whether it is designing lighting plans for a new building or installing parking lot lights at a local restaurant.
We know what it takes to get the job done correctly. We work with you to guarantee it is done on time and on budget. We are trained and experienced in all aspects of electrical installation. We are members of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). All installation is based on current electrical codes and we have an on-going job safety program.
John Haenig started the business in 1904, opening a repair shop for streetcar motors. In those days, streetcars clattered through downtown Springfield and Haenig’s employees maintained their motors. As streetcars faded from the scene, Haenig joined forces with his brother, Albert, selling light fixtures from a retail store, repairing appliances, and going on calls for electrical contracting work. In the early days, some of those calls were made in horse and wagon.
In the 1950s, John’s daughter, Virginia, and her husband, Harold Bennett, bought the business. In 1980, Mike and Deb Marsaglia purchased the business and the Marsaglias have kept Haenig a family-owned business, where customers are treated with friendliness and respect.
When you call Haenig, you know you will get a real person on the telephone. We ask the right questions when you call.
We do projects that span more than a year and cost millions. We do small repairs too, adding power to a computer room or power to office equipment right away as part of our repair service program.
